A joint initiative with JFRail to improve staffing efficiency and engagement

SISCOG, in partnership with JFRail, has just initiated a new project where our staff planning and management product CREWS will support a study about the optimisation of station staff resourcing at Network Rail’s Manchester Piccadilly railway station.

The goal is to define the number of staff roles, their daily tasks and activities, and the corresponding diagrams/shifts and rosters in a way that:

  • improves productivity
  • supports multifunctional working
  • strengthens employee engagement

This study will support the station in serving more than 30 million customers per year, a number that may increase following the recent announcements related to the Northern Powerhouse Rail Plan, part of the wider High Speed Rail programme in the North of England.
