Rescheduling of vehicles with considerable revenue growth and cost savings
On June 8th, under the "Disruption management and increasing capacity" session, SISCOG's Innovation Department Head Ricardo Saldanha, and optimisation specialist Rita Portugal, will present the paper entitled “Rescheduling rolling stock rosters as a profit optimisation problem” at the flagship World Congress on Railway Research (WCRR) 2022, taking place in Birmingham from 6 - 10 June.
They will address the rescheduling of rolling stock rosters with maintenance constraints as a profit maximisation problem at a North American railway company, and explain how this approach obtained considerable revenue growths and cost savings.
The World Congress on Railway Research (WCRR) is the world’s largest international congress on railway research, founded by SNCF (France), DB AG (Germany), Trenitalia (Italy), RTRI (Japan), RSSB (UK), MxV Rail (USA) and UIC. It will be a major gathering for the global railway research and innovation community to exchange ideas, and will be a great opportunity to meet railway experts from around the world.
