Converting Maths into National Exports: the SISCOG's case study
How SISCOG has been able to convert the use of Math techniques into software products that represent almost 100% of its international sales will be the theme of a presentation made at the Winter School Mathmasters, at the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA), on January 15th.
Converting Maths into National Exports: the SISCOG's case study

Carlos Iglésias, from SISCOG’s Innovation Department and a FCT NOVA Alumni, will present “Converting Maths into National Exports: the SISCOG's case study”, within the “One day with Operations Research” session. He will show how the SISCOG Suite, equipped with state of the art optimisation algorithms, are helping railway and subway operators worldwide in reducing operational costs, increasing revenue and improving customer satisfaction, while reducing carbon emissions.

Furthermore, and not to be missed, Carlos will show how our optimisation algorithms are used in practice by presenting a live demo.

The Winter School Mathmasters, is an event hosted by the Department of Mathematics of NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA), with the support of the Center of Mathematics and Applications (CMA NOVA) and occurs from the 13th to 17th January 2020.

In this 2nd edition, students will have the opportunity to contact with advanced themes of several distinct areas of Mathematics, such as Purely Mathematics, Current Issues in Actuarial Science, Statistics: Discovery with Data, One day with Operations Research, Mathematics in Financial Markets, Analytics and Big Data Engineering.
