Customer support"Next door" in the global
village
SISCOG is prepared to use all
modern communication tools that abolish physical
distance. With these communication tools and the experience
gathered with the development of similar systems for other
international clients the physical distance between SISCOG and
the client is not a problem.
The bulk of the discussions between SISCOG and the client will take place during periodical meetings. Documentation is communicated by e-mail (Internet), FAX or courier. Delivery of the evolving versions of the system either takes place during the meetings or can be done by courier. Using e-mail communication, SISCOG is able to correct most reported bugs within a period of 24 hours of their detection. It is expected that during the development of systems both parties have to hold periodical meetings. There will be minutes produced for each meeting indicating the actions that need to be done both by SISCOG and by the client. Some of these meetings can take place either in Lisbon or at the customer premises, or done using teleconferencing. Problems and bug fixing can be supported by modem using telnet, which enables (after proper authorization) a SISCOG member located in Lisbon, access directly to the client's environment, in real-time, and see and /or correct any problems that may be occurring. Professional management of projectsThe project team from SISCOG is
managed by professionals that have a large experience in the
development of similar systems. The Project follows a schedule
chart that is agreed beforehand between SISCOG and the Client
(using Gantt charts) where the duration of the tasks and the
human resources required are set up. The progress of the work
and the amount of resources used is discussed regularly with
the client.
All bugs, requirements for functionality, and remarks from the client about the system will be uniquely numbered and maintained in a program that clearly identifies the task to be done by SISCOG, the date of reporting, the action that was taken (and the person that was responsible for it), and the date the correction has been made. The main idea behind SISCOG's project administration is transparency of procedures and a honest and open relationship towards the client. Reports about the evolution of the project are presented to the client as the project progresses and all the problems that occur are openly presented and discussed with the client.
