SISCOG's 20th anniversary
SISCOG celebrates its 20th anniversary. To underline the importance of this milestone, we have organized a two-day event of reflection, social contact and fun, dedicated to the team that has grown from 7 people in 1986 to 52 nowadays. It was a way to thank all of those that have helped us to get where we are today and to inspire all in performing even better in the years to come. It was also a way to integrate a lot of new people that joined us recently within the spirit and culture of SISCOG. Activities included a meeting followed by a boat ride in one of the most spectacular artificial lakes (Barragem de Castelo de Bode), a trip to Marvão Castle built by King Dinis in about 1299, and a theater play in The Convent of the Order of Christ in Tomar, a Templar stronghold built by Dom Gualdim Pais, provincial Master of the Order of the Temple in 1160.

Finnish Railways (VR) signs a new contract with SISCOG
In July 2005, after SISCOG’s system in full operation for the drivers of VR,
Finnish Railways orders a second system to plan guards and railway-yard personnel. The system now
ordered will plan the work of 2.800 persons across Finland. The long-term planning and short-term
planning components will be used.
The work now ordered, is a confirmation of the quality of the solutions produced by SISCOG. Following an international public tender, in 2001, VR ordered SISCOG a software system to plan and manage its 2.000 drivers. This system, now in full production, plans the work of all passenger and cargo train drivers across Finland. The system plans duties and rosters, makes the allocation of drivers to rosters, and has the capability to accept changes to the plan in face of staff absences or modifications of timetables. |
